In four easy steps:

Step 1: Set Up SmartDriver with your PC.
Step 2: Plug SmartDriver in your vehicle.
Step 3: Plug SmartDriver back into your PC.
Step 4: View, Print, and Save Your Information.

 

Step 1
Set Up SmartDriver with your PC

You tell SmartDriver what kinds of information you want to record, and what constitutes vehicle abuse (for example, driving over 85 mph, or "flooring the gas").

 

Step 2
Plug SmartDriver into your vehicle.

For commercial trucks:

For non-commercial vehicles:

You plug SmartDriver into your vehicle-no installation required! Model year 1996 and later medium- and heavy-duty trucks work with SmartDriver. It will record up to a month's worth of driving information.

 

Step 3
Plug SmartDriver back into your PC.

Connect the serial cable and power cable, and then click on the 'Retrieve Data' button. SmartDriver processes the information and prepares it for viewing.

 

Step 4
View, Print, and Save Your Information.

To view actual reports generated by SmartDriver, click on the Adobe Acrobat files listed below:

Report Name Example of use Download
Mileage Report When vehicle started, when it stopped, as well as how far and how long it went between stops.
Vehicle Usage Start/Stop Report When cars were first started and last stopped for the past several days.
Vehicle Usage Detailed Report How far, how fast, and everything in between.
Final Speed Profile Report How fast did the vehicle come to its last stop?
Summary Report A quick summary of my truck's activity over the past several days.

Detailed Report

A printout of every single event monitored by SmartDriver for a detailed analysis.
